A message from Tom about his swim, and how to sponsor him - money to Helen & Douglas House.
In the last week of August / first week of September 2010, if the tide and weather Gods permit, I'm going to attempt a solo swim crossing of the English Channel. Stupid, I know!
I'm doing it because it's been a long-time dream of mine and I'd like to raise some money for an end of life childrens charity called Helen & Douglas House.
Needless to say it's a very good cause and you can help make the lives of terminaly ill children and their parents a little brighter by contributing here:
You can find out information about Helen & Douglas House and what they do here:
You can also find out more about my swim using the justgiving link, which contains other info on channel swimming and my training. (I'll try to update the page occassionally).
It would be wrong of me to give the impression that this swim is something I am doing without a lot of help from a lot of folks. There is a lot more that goes into a channel swim than just one person preparing through training. There are many, many people who help along the way and advice is usually given freely. Without these people I wouldn't have got this far.
Thank You for looking and please help me raise some money for this charity!
